Emma Capes

​Emma is currently completing her Integrated Masters in Chemistry at Heriot-Watt University, with a keen interest in organic synthesis and sustainable chemistry. Her research experience includes the synthesis of asymmetric organophotocatalysts, supervised by Dr Filipe Vilela. Emma joined the Donnelly group for her Masters project, investigating polymer backbone modification for the synthesis of degradable polymers. Outside the lab, Emma enjoys reading and is an active member of the university's cheerleading.
