Isla Morris

Isla graduated from Heriot-Watt University in 2026 with an MChem degree in Chemistry. Her master’s research project, supervised by Dr Filipe Vilela and conducted in collaboration with BASF, focused on monitoring the biodegradation of polymers in liquid formulations using atline and offline analytical techniques. During her undergraduate studies, she also completed a summer research project investigating novel organophotocatalysts and developing a keen interest in flow chemistry. Isla has since remained at Heriot-Watt University to pursue a PhD under the supervision of Dr Filipe Vilela and Dr Liam Donnelly. Her research focuses on enabling technologies for autonomous chemical manufacturing in space, exploring innovative approaches for chemical synthesis beyond Earth.
