Frances Tait
Frances graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 2021 with a BSc in Immunology and Pharmacology. Her final year project focussed on the role of G protein-coupled receptor signalling in sepsis. She then completed her MSc in Analytical Science for the Biosciences Industries at Heriot-Watt University in 2026. Her Masters project - supervised by Dr David Ellis and carried out in collaboration with Diageo - investigated the use of benchtop NMR spectroscopy to detect congeners in whisky and to quantify ethanol in alcoholic beverages. Her PhD research aims to use fluorine NMR spectroscopy to quantify PFAS in environmental samples, monitor PFAS degradation, and explore biocatalytic remediation strategies.
